As reported on Thursday, September 28th, Sir Michael Gambon, the Irish actor renowned for his portrayal of Professor Albus Dumbledore in six of the eight Harry Potter films, has sadly passed away at the age of 82 due to pneumonia, a confirmation made by his family through an official statement.
Born in Dublin on October 19, 1940, Sir Michael embarked on his career as one of the founding members of the Royal National Theatre in London. He went on to shine in various Shakespearean productions, and his talents extended to his role as French detective Jules Maigret in the ITV series "Maigret" and his notable performance as Philip Marlow in Dennis Potter's "The Singing Detective" on the BBC.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the entertainment industry, he received a knighthood in 1998 and earned accolades such as three Olivier Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and four BAFTA Awards. Rest easy Professor💛
